Crash Tests For 3/4 And 1 Ton Trucks

Just wondering if anyone knows why their aren't crash tests done for 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickups. With so many of these rigs on the road, and how many are used as personal transportation and so few models to test (trucks from just 3 manfacturers) it seems strange why it is not done (you would not think it would be cost prohibitive)

 

I was also curious if the big 3 do their own crash tests on their heavy duty lines, or since the gov does not require it, they dont bother.

 

 

This just seems like one of those topics that never gets attention, it's always that damn fuel economy bulls**t :)
