Little Change To The Truck!

The weather was good today and I thought I would clean the truck up, add a new grill and debadge the tail gate. I will paint the bowtie soon. Didn't have enough time to finish. I think the new grill really makes the truck look good.

I am planning to get a polished one. I had to get the grill painted. I couldn't stand the chrome. I think the trucks look better painted in the fronts with a hint of chrome. I am also planning on debadging the sides.

I completely agree. The front ends look awesome on the Chevy's when they are all color matched....

Looks awesome. Whats the trick to getting that black bowtie have such a smooth finish? I must have used a bad spay paint. Mine has an orange peel tecture and i hate it.

I took the grill and bumper to a local paint shop. I couldn't get the finish I wanted with rattle can. I am still deciding on black or chrome wheels. I am also wanting to paint the rear bumper. I thought about using the shadow for now until I get it painted.

I may have to take mine to a paint shop. How much did it cost?

The grill and front bumper cost $175. The tail gate I wanted to leave the bowtie. I am going to paint it black. The painter wants $40 to do it. I bought the eraser wheel for the debadge. I still didn't do the sides yet. Planning on doing them next weekend.

I have debadged my tailgate also, I bought the eraser wheel but didn't use it. It looks a little scary to me. What did you think? What did you use to clean up the sticky stuff?

I used goo gone, compound and wax. My last truck I used 3M wax remover which worked better. The wheel was scary at first, I thought it would take off the clear. It smears the glue and turns it into dust. The glue remover takes off the rest. I will be taking off my side badges soon and I am glad I have the wheel.

Lovin the look of that front end. And though i would never cover my tow hooks, i love the look of the other billet inserts. I have the Z71 appearance package black grille, so i dont know if i can find any inserts to match.

The bow-ties are kinda annoying. Making the back bowtie black looks nice because of it's chrome border. However, the front one doesn't stand out at all with it's black border. So i'm either going to black out the back one and repaint the front one black with a chrome border... or put a billet bowtie on the front and make the tailgate naked!

My truck looks a lot like yours with that front end, and black wheels with a chrome lip are my favorite.

Keep us updated!

Sounds good, and looks good. I will be doing my doors as well, including the body moldings.
