Is This Normal?

I have the push button 4x4 on my 97 z71.

 

My 4x4 works perfect. But engaging into 4hi has a little clunk when engaging. And the 4low has a clunk engaging so powerful it rocks the truck(feels cool) its loud. Something to be concerned about? No noises after that, just engaging and disengaging.

how are you engaging it? in gear or in neutral.. in gear it will clunk in neutral it shouldn't. at least on my 1999 and current 2010 that is how it behaves.

In gear I can only go into 4hi and you have to be in neutral for 4lo to even bother trying.

every chevy with elec trasnfer case clunks when i put it in 4 low some are worse than others though
