Speed Sensor

Hey Guys,

I am having issues with both my suburban and tahoe that I believe are the result of dirty/broken speed sensors. Can you tell me first, where specifically these are located? I've read they are in the hub...Also, if it is possible to clean these or are you better just to replace them?

Thank you in advance

What are the codes?

Sorry Redvett, was out of town...

I haven't checked it for codes...I don't know its thrown any. I'm not getting any warning lights (if that matters)

What issues? A VSS signal problem will set a SES light and ABS light vehicle speedo will will not work and transmission will not shift correctly. The ABS uses a LH & RH front wheel sensors. The VSS is located on the 4x2 on the rear of the tailshaft housing on the trans and on 4x4 on the transfercase.
