Unknown Wire

I have a 2009 GMC Seirra 4.8 was lloking under the hood today and found a wire dangling. Looks like it was connected to something but I can't find where it should go. Can someone please tell me where it goes and what it is for.

It is for the 12V to the 7 pin. Used if you are adding power (lights, etc) to a trailer or LED bar.

 

It hooks up on the small post under the fuse box and you add a 40W fuse.

The wire id too short to hookup to the front of the fuse box. by the looks of the wire it was hooked to something. I can see where there was a nut on the wire

its a little hard to see but could it be a ground wire. It could hook on the firewall or on a metal support beam. Look around for a random bolt with out a nut because i the wire looks like it has a hoop to go on to a nut. Take the wire and stretch it till its tight and make a radius with it and within that radius look for a bolt, or any kind or connector.

Yea that doesnt look like the 12V wire taking a close look. Can you post a larger pic?

The wire is attached to the firewall.

Looks like the hood ground.

I think it is the hood ground also.
