2007 GMC Sierra 1500 LT Z71, Crew Cab, 4WD - 5.3V8 - 41,000 miles. The air bag alarm first started blinking and sounding intermittently then the door locks began going up and down continuously and other alarms kept going off and on. Driving down interstate at 70 mph in heavy traffic - it was a very scary situation. The truck motor hesitated off and on - the oil pressure guage went high then back to normal - the air conditioner lights were blinking and I had no control over it as it blew hot air. Hard to describe all that was happening. I pulled off the road and put in park. It all stopped and everything seemed normal. I took off and a mile up the road it all began again with the air bag alarm going off incessently first then the door locks and all the other lights and alarms. I have left it with a mechanic to check it out. Is this a known problem with these units?? I just bought it used two weeks ago and and am quite concerned.

There is a recall for an over sensing diagnostic module you may take I to a dealership and see what's going on. It can cause the airbags to deploy randomly

I had similar issues on my 07. When it happened, dealer could never figure it out because it behaved just fine for them, no matter how long they had it. I ended up trading that truck in 2 years ago. Since that time, there have been similar posts on here with people having similar issues. Some have said it's a ground issue, others something with the BCM or loose connections somewhere in the relay box or what not. I'd start at the negative battery terminal, make sure it is snug, and work your way back. Seems to be common on the 07 GMT-900 models only. For whatever reason.

Thanks for your input on this. I bought the truck from carmax and it is still under the 30 day warrenty so they are working on it and told me today that they were going to take it to the GM dealer.

We also have an Envoy XL with the 5.3l that we went thru almost 9 months of hell chasing similiar demons; doors locking unlocking, power loss for a few seconds, cruise shutting off on its own, gauges going crazy and all warning lights at the same time. Dealer replaced lift gate & body control modules, neutral safety switch, speed sensors, ignition module, battery, the main computer (AT NO CHARGE) and still having issues. Drove around for weeks with a GM recorder installed in it and then we had transmission shifting issues. The computer caught an issue with the transmission control module, they replaced it and all was solved

I have had this same issue with my 2007 Sierra. I reseated everything in the relay box under the hood and the problem went away, until now, about one year later. It has done it again. The clock goes back to 12:00, the ac controls get set to 74 degrees. And the door locks go crazy. This time it happened in my garage when I opened the passenger side door. The dome light came on and then went off. Stayed off for about 5 seconds then came on again at the same time the doors all unlocked several times. Then I noticed the clock was reset. Just like as if you had pulled the battery connection in the middle of it.

How can I find out if any recalls have been applied to this truck? I bought it about two years ago.
