Wind Noise

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a '02 2500HD extended cab with a wind rattle which seems to coming from somewhere around the front windshiled.  There are two rubber flaps covering the hood hinges which were my first suspects.  After removing these, there was no change in the noise - in fact it may be a little worse.  The noise only occurs at highway speeds and is more severe when I'm going against a headwind.  It's a rapid tapping sound which it very obnoxious on long road trips.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Most likely it is the windshield molding.  It is even more likely to be the molding if you have a bug deflector on the front of your truck.

You can put a dbl. face sticky tape under the molding to cure the problem.
