Replaced Shocks Today

Took me about 1.5 hours with hand tools and the bottle jack from under my seat. Most of that time is jacking and removing wheels. Truck has 54k miles and the ride was getting worse until I decided to bite the bullet and get new shocks.

What a difference. The ride is stiffer but all around better. I had the stock red colored z71 shocks. After I removed the fronts, I compressed the stock ones on the ground and it took maybe 15 seconds to come back up fully. The new bilstein took about 3 seconds.

The rear stock shocks were softer and easier to compress against the ground than the new bilsteins, but not by a whole lot.

Overall I am very pleased. Really improved the ride.

It is surprising the difference that new shocks make on an older vehicle, you just get accustomed to the ride as it gradually gets worse and really dont notice it.
