Has anyone changed their heads on a 95' or earlier TBI 5.7 to Vortec L31 heads? If you have could you please let me know if the stock intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, or the throttle body have to be changed. Did you change the cam? What kind of results did you have. I am going to make this change as soon as I have a level of comfort with the set-up and hope someone out there can give me some info. I have a 95' GMC Sierra Z71 that needs more HP. Any info would be appreciated.

To put vortec heads on you need a new intake. The exhaust should still work. I can't remember who does it but a vortec head, TBI manifold is in production. Another definite improvement on the TBI trucks is a ignition system and coil. MSD or Holley would be my recomendation.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. GM is making a manifold for this application now. Do you know if the standard rockers off of my engine will work with the Vortec heads, or do I need to replace everything?
