Oem Steel Wheels

Looking at getting a set of 16" painted steel wheels for $150 to save my PYO's from winter (they don't look bad for 7 years old). I assume that the wheel is no different between HD and non HD (seller said they were on a 2000, and then a 2003).

On to the question. Has anyone painted these wheels before? There is an 09 running around with them painted Victory Red and I like them for some reason. I have thought about making them body color (sport red metallic) or some sort of dark gray. What would be the best way to paint them? Rattle can? Powdercoat? Something else? Thanks very much.

I thought HD wheels were 8 lug. If they are 6 lug, they should fit.

Some people have rattle canned and other powder coated them. I personally believe powder coating is the way to go. Its only about $25 per wheel too. But if you want to paint them, you'll need to scuff, use an etching primer, paint, then clear. :dunno:

Yes the ones I am looking at are 8-lug (I do own a 2500hd). A far as powder coating goes, would a body/paint shop do something like that? Or would it be at a metal place?
