Front Axle Seals - Gm Or Timken Or ?

Going to have my drivers side front axle seal replaced soon at my local mechanic's shop, $125.00 part/labor, which sounded reasonable to me........he said he usually uses Timken for his bearings/seals, just wondered if anyone has had any experience with Timken seals on the front axles? It seems most independent shops use the local NAPA suppliers around here, and most seem to avoid dealer parts unless absolutely necessary. I had read somewhere on a post that GM had "supposedly" come out with an improved seal, but my local dealer knows nothing of the sort....other than the fact that he said they replace lots of them.....I had the passenger side changed at 25K (warranty), and now the drivers is slinging oil at 45K.....Any thoughts?

I don't have any personal experience with timken axle seals in particular. But they are my choice for bearings, seals and what not as well as several mechanics I know.
