Nerfs/steps For Gmc 2500hd, Ext Cab, Short Bed, Gas

Long-time lurker, first-time poster ...

I'm looking for a set of wheel-to-wheel nerf/steps for my 2008 GMC 2500HD, but apparently I'm the only owner of an Extended Cab 2500 HD!

I like the look/design of the Dominator III by Go Rhino products, but their website only shows a single option for the 2500HD (only Crew Cab, Long Bed) (link: http://www.gorhino.com/products.aspx?id=142)

They've recently introduced a "modular" version of the Dom-III, but again, the only 2500HD models they support are for the Crew Cab. (link: http://www.gorhino.com/products.aspx?id=23)

I'm not averse to some garage "mods" to a purchased kit (i.e. I can grind, cut, weld, etc), but I'm concerned about the wheelbase differences. I don't mind cutting/trimming/modifying the brackets, but want to avoid cutting/trimming the rails themselves.

I've emailed GoRhino a couple times with no reply.

So I guess the help that I'm looking for from y'all is related to comparisons of the different wheelbases for the 2500HD's, and if anybody has experience with the Dom-III nerf bars.

Thanks

they look pretty good

Agreed. ... but I'm wondering if they'll fit with my Extended cab. There are plenty of options for the Crew Cab model.

How long are yours? (rail-tip to rail-tip) Where are the brackets located? Will my frame have the same mount-points as the Crew Cab?

These are the sorts of questions that I need answers for, before I drop serious cash on something that may not fit.

Thx.

if the company wont answer your questions before you purchase i would stay away. how do you think there service will be after they take your money if there is no service before they have your money in there hand.

... a bunch of questions ...

I ended up going with the n-Fab 3-step wheel-to-wheel nerf bars.

I followed some advice that I learned here ( link ) and went to the hardware store and got some 1/2" hardware. The carriage bolts that n-Fab provides are not big enough to engage the bracket holes.

The driver's side went on quickly, but the passenger side took some finesse.

Lets just say that i spent a little time in the truck accessory retail world, i have worked with just about all of the major manufacturers out there ie: Go Rhino, Steelcraft, Westin, Lund, Go Industries, NFab, Iron Cross, RBP, Raptor, ect. I have spent time with all of them at the SEMA show in vegas..... That brings me to my next point, you could not give me anything Go Rhino and pay me to use it. If you are looking for some great wheel to wheel bars for that truck call Mike @ Steelcraft Automotive. you can find there number on steelcrafts website. I am no longer in that world so i am not plugging a name or in any way profiting from this. I love the steelcraft products and have used them on every vehicle that i have owned. i still call mike whenever i am needing something and he takes care of me. you will never have to worry about not getting a call or email back from him. If you are dead set on the Go Rhino's you can try calling and talking to Jason ( i think) and he will be more than happy to help.
