Hid Lights

I have a kit from ebay rite now in my fog lights, a bulb isn't working, could i get new bulbs from ddm and the plugin off the ballast will be the same or..... no?

All HIDS use the same two wire(separated) connecting method that I know of. If it's the same size and meant for the same wattage and also the same temp color I don't see a problem.

Are you sure it's not the ballast that's no more good? Those knock-off ebay kits have s**tty ballasts and don't last long.

yea because i was messin with my lights today because the housing was full of water because the stupid bulbs dont seal good. i wiggled the wire a little and it started working again but then went out,

 

its not a cheap kit from ebay, i paid $150 for it from a good company i think/thought.

 

so the kit i have is a 35w 6000k are you saying i couldnt get a 55w 8000k and use the same ballasts i have now?

 

and how does ddm sell such a cheap kit thats supposed to be good?

I've used these guys for years, trucks and my quads. $90 gets you a great plug and play kit and a custom relay harness.

H16 and 5202 are same style bulb?? is that rite?

You can get any temp color you want, I was just saying you'd need two of the same color to match. And a 55 watt bulb won't work with a 35 watt ballast for obvious reasons. You need a 35 watt bulb in any color you want.

all rite, i didnt realize the ballasts were different for a different wattage... now i just have to make sure ddm's bulbs will work with my plug ins.

Just an FYI,8000K is going to have a purple tint to it.4300/5000K will be the whitest color range.These are what I have in my fogs.I got them from BFXenon.They use McCulloch ballasts which are top shelf.

yea, ive had 6000k in it since july, i like them so i ordered new bulbs that are also 6000k

Ok so my new ddm bulbs came today. When they warm up they turn white. I got two sets from them 6000k and 8000k. I had a 6 in one side and 8 in the other and cant see a difference. Theirs no blue at all to them. Whats up w that?

I have no clue why, but i know two of my friends have hids in their trucks, one is a 4500k, the other is 8000k, and the look exactly the same as my 6000k, no noticable difference at all. The kits were all labeled in their respective k ratings, and are all from different companys too. I'd really like to see the reason why.

yea its weird, my old 6k from flashtech were pretty blue, and now even the 8k from ddm is like pure white
