blkeele Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Hey Guys! I just bought a new truck tonight and she needs a new set of tires...It's a 1992 Chevrolet k2500 4x4. I'd like to put a good all terrain tire on it but not sure what size would fit. I want to step up to a bigger size than the stock tire. I've heard some might crank the front torsion bars up to get a bigger size in. How much should it be cranked up and what size tires will fit? Thanks

Those factory rims are pretty narrow (16x6.5) so a 285 tire is about as wide as you want to go if you want them to wear evenly. A 285/75/16 is really popular, would look much better than the stockers, and would fit without much trouble. A 255/85/16 would probably also fit, but it's less common because it's kinda tall & skinny. If you're wanting larger tires on stock rims, those are about the only options I would recommend.

Thanks buddy. That's what I thought would work on it. I'll post a pic when I get the new ones on her.
