Reverse Problem

Hello everyone,

I just got a 95 tahoe and i think it has some tranny problems. Is this uncommon?

Heres my problem, my reverse works fine at first but when u start using it a lot it starts to hesitate and then after a while of using it, it totally goes out, like i have no more reverse. It seems as if when its cold its ok...

does anyone know anything about the transmission valve body, could that be causeing this of do you think its completely gone... All the forward gears shift firm and dead on with no slipping...

as a side note... if there is too much tranny fluid in it, could that effect anything adversly?

thanks in advance!

Tranny fluid expands when warm, If you got too much in there, it will more than likely do some funky things.

I'm no expert, but I'd get the level right.

Not sure if too much fluid would be causing your problem but it doesnt hurt to have it at the correct "hot" level, cold readings are very inaccurate. I had a '95 ext cab that had some tranny problems so not sure if it was a thing with the '95s or not?
