Fender Lips

Recommended Posts

Hey fellas,

I was in the mountains all winter and the highways are 'sanded' using gravel.

My truck is covered in rock chips.

More importantly, the lips on my fenders all have several rock chips. I have stock wheels and tires, and was just wondering if there is any way to control this?

I can keep painting them, but I don't want it to get much worse.

I would like to stay away from putting fender flares on.

Ideally, something like those ugly ass chrome fender lips - only not chrome , would be perfect.

Any ideas?

Thanks

That 3M invisible bra?

I have an 08SD (painted black mirrors/bumper, and the dealer put it on the entire front as well as the mirror caps. Saves them from getting the crap beat out of them with the rocks.

No reason they couldn't do the lips on the fenders as well...

There is a product we sell at our dealership called Xpel. It is basically the clearbra stuff. Find a retailer near you and they can cut to fit any part of the vehicle you want. You will not even be able to see it and it will protect your paint. They also warranty the stuff.

I had the Stainless Steel lips on my 95 Chevy and it rusted out the fender under the lips. Now I have used the 3M clear protective tape which seems to work out well.
