Service 4wd/service Brake System Display

I have a 06 Silverado 1500 5.3L w/ 104Kmi. that intermittently displays Service 4WD, Service Brake System in the msg ctr. The ABS light and Brake lights also illuminate on the dash. Whenever this happens, my blower for heat/AC is inoperable too (no matter the dial setting). The problem stores no fault codes in the CPU and happens intermitently, most often on start up. I can either shut the truck off and restart in the hopes that it won't happen again or just drive for a few minutes with the bells going off like bomb sirens and wait for the problem to correct itself. Sometimes it stays like this for a few minutes, other times it goes haywire then back to normal within a matter of 15 seconds.

I've had the truck into the dealership, no help, just bills. I read that it was a problem with the ESOF dash switch on the left side of the instrument cluster; replaced with a new one and no help.

If anyone can offer up any advice short of driving it off of a cliff it would be appreciated. I thought crying kids on a long road trip was annoying until I've had the pleasure of listening to sustained warning bells going off constantly and for what seems to be no good reason. Thank you!!!

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L having most of the same issues. I get the Service 4WD message, but no fault codes. My 4WD indicator keeps switching from 2wd to 4wd low, then to neutral and back to 2wd. When I try to select one of them the light just flashes, but never goes into what I selected.

Then, just this weekend my blower for my heat/AC just quit.

I do not get the service brakes message. I do, however, get the Fuel Cap message. I check and tighten it, but it keeps coming up now and then. The cap has no cracks and the rubber gasket looks good.

Hopefully someone can shed some light for us.
