Gmt800 Hvac Door Issues

I have a 2001 Silverado with manual AC (no climate control) & I have two problems:

 

1. The recirculation door is flapping back & forth when in non-recirculation mode. When I put it in recirculation mode, the "flapping" goes away. I looked under the dash, behind the glove box and I see the door bumping up against the case, making the noise.

 

2. Sometimes I still get hot air out of the HVAC system even though the control is set to cold. The air is very hot, so it seems like the temperature door is not closing. This is a intermittent problem.

 

I disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes and the issue still exists.

 

I am thinking both the blend door and recirc door actuators are bad. Thoughts?

The hot air stuck on in my 2001 after running the heat for a while. It was the actuator motor under the HVAC box above the transmission tunnel. Easy to change (if you have a 5.5mm socket). I bought a new one from O'riley's for $60. Bolt it in, disconnect and reconnect the battery, and do not touch any controls for a couple minutes while it recalibrates.

 

As for the recirculate door, I have no experience with that.

pull the hvac fuse, wait 10 mins, put it back, start the truck.
