I have a 1998 Tahoe. I noticed the drivers and passenger side floorboard soaking wet. It has happened numerous times after drying the carpet out. I have replaced the main door seal around both passenger and drivers door. I also replaced the long one that goes from the front door to the rear door. I also replaced the bottom seal that goes along the bottom of the door. After probably a month between each one of these fixes, the carpet still got wet. I pulled up the carpet in the floor board and noticed that the channel beside the seat, (under the carpet) fills up with rain water. I guess once this gets so full it soaks into the carpet. I wedged a couple of pieces of paper towel between the door panel and door and I also put one under the carpet below the e-brake area. After a good rain i went out and checked it again. The e-brake area paper towel was dry but hte ones i put between the door panel and door was soaking wet. Any idea how water is getting in there? I can post up a few pic in a few mintues of what i found when i took the panel off of the door.

notice the blown out seal. None of the rest of the door looks like this and this is exactly where the papertowels were.

this pic is of the paper towel i had near the ebrake area hoping to determine if water was running down this crease from the fresh air vent area.

This one was bone dry after the rains.

Sorry if there are multiple posts, it kept adding blank posts. Looks like you should change that deformed gasket in the door. Also I noticed that it looks like you live in a very dusty area or go 4 wheeling alot? Need to check the drains in the bottom of the door to make sure it is draining properly and not clogged. Good luck!

The vehicle has not been off road in 5 years or so and maybe never been off road. Im the third owner and my mom was the 2nd owner and my insurance agent was the original owner. I live in georgia but it isn't dusty around here. I've only put 6k miles on it in the last year and half I guess. What type of areal do I need for that or where can I get one from. Does Lmc carry themm this vehicle does not have a sun roof.

OK, sorry. It looked dirty in the door jamb. Or is that tan overspray from a repair? I would imagine you could order that gasket from the dealer, or maybe from where you got the other gaskets you replaced. You could try RockAuto.com or AutoAnything.com

I gotcha. I will check them out. The majority of the vehicle is the green color. And the strip around the bottom is that gold/tan color. No body work ever been done to it.
