Looking for any help suggestions on my 2005 Silverado 5.3L truck. Here's whats has happened.... yesterday drove about 10 miles to store with no known issues, when I left to return home merged on hwy and accelerated to 55-60 mph then all of a sudden it tached out to about 4500-5000rpms and wasnt accelerating slowed down to 40 mph felt it jump as it engaged again then when tried to accel again the same thing. I pulled over checked trans fluid it was good. I manually put in 1st got up to 15-20mph i shifted into 2nd got to about 35-40mph tried 3rd and it tached out again, I slowed down to 35mph and was able to accelerate to about 40-45 then tached out again. Was hoping someone could give me some insight on what is wrong. I haven't had any problems with the trans in the past. I have 93000 miles on this truck. So thanks for any feedback in advance.

Your 3/4 clutch pack is most likely worn out. OR you have a bad solenoid. Have the tranny checked for trouble codes to help the diagnosis. Has the fluid and filter ever been changed?

Did you flush your transmission recently? :flag:

Transmission does not shift automatically, only manually. Swap in a known-good PCM, check wiring, check other sensors such as VSS and TPS.

No to the filter/fluid change. I'll assume I should just take it to a trans shop to diagnose b/c it sounds a lil above my level. Thanks for the response and info!!!
