P0446 Again

Got the P0446 code and replaced the vent selonoid on the canister, after a week the engine light came on again with the same code. From what I read on here it either could be a blocked or dirty canister or the selonoid on the the intake manifold. Before I spend more money on parts I was wondering if the canister can be cleaned?

1998 Chevrolet 1500 4.3L
