Need Part Number For New Engine

I haven't been able to figure out how to locate a correct part number for a replacement 6.0L engine for my '01 Chevy Suburban 6.0L 2500 LT. Eighth character of the VIN is the letter "U"

 

I have over 140K on it and it's time to get another before something catastrophic happens while towing to or from Canada.

 

Also, what year engines bolt in without ANY computer chances. Money's tight and I don't want to purchase other computer modules.

Can anyone help? I sent a PM to forum member GMParts Direct asking how to find the correct part number on May 30 but he hasn't read it yet.

140k is just about 1/2 the life expectance of the "LS" engines and many go way over, my oldest a 2000 5.3L has over 277000 miles and runs just fine without any internal repairs. Unless you have abbused or failed to change oil by the OLM you should be fine.

I got it off a 4 year lease so I have no knowledge of maintence. I have a "noisy" engine. I tow a 24' pontoon boat up and back from Canada at least three trips a year. A major repair could cost a few times what I can get a new engine from GM for.

 

Since I got it with 56K in '05 , it's had Mobil 1 oil changes ( and filters ) every 5K.
