2007 Denali Door Handle Recall

I saw in a previous post about how to replace the door handle after they came loose on the 2007 Denali's. The instructions are great, but I was wondering if the recall for replacing the door handles on the Denali's can be used. We received a recall notice to replace the handles if they were fading and the recall is supposedly good for 10 years. Mine aren't fading, but I would like to have the dealership replace all four handles free of charge. I have not priced a new door handle yet, but the previous post said about $65 per and I have two that are loose.

 

Sounds like a common problem and since they have a valid recall, I am considering calling my dealer to have them free of charge. There have been recent breakins of cars at night and I think that someone really pulled hard to try and get in.

The drivers side handle on my truck does not return to the rest position correctly, I have to give it a little push to get it to set. Wonder if this is covered on the recall?

I have a 2007 Sd, and have not heard of any recall. How did you hear of it?

We had received a letter earlier this year from GM about the door handles fading or chipping and when I re read the letter it was for interior doors, not the exterior ones. I will find the letter again and get a date for you.

The OEM chrome passenger side handle on my Sierra has broken and needs replacing... PASSENGER side! Nobody ever uses it!
