I'm getting conflicting information on the tow rating on my 08 Sierra Denali AWD, 6.2, 6 speed auto. and I can't find any factory charts for it. Anyone have any links?

Thanks, one response I got on another website said 9300lb w/cooling package and 6300lb without! I've never heard of a 'cooling package' in regards to towing. And 3000 lbs is a LOT of difference for ANY kind of 'package'.

BTW, have you towed anything with your truck? I'm looking at towing a 24' enclosed car hauler with a 3500lb car inside.

Yeah, I towed a friends camaro on a car dolly. Didn't even know it there till I hit some hills/mountains and even then it wasn't a problem. :P

I thought the 08 was only rated for 8600 or 8700 and in 2009 they increased the rating to 9300.

I remember this because i always thought my 08 was under rated considering the engine/trans/gear combo...

Come to think about it.. your right Matt. It is the 8600 for 2008. Not sure why when the combination is the same

Yeah it's kind of weird. I think it was just under-rated... kind of like an "oops, we rated that truck the same as the 5.3L 4L60E?" and then they corrected it in 2009 and bumped the rating up.

I think the 8.5" 10 bolt is the new limiting factor in the rating; if they gave it the 9.5" 14 bolt like your truck came with that would have been sweet.
