Need Help With Figuring Out Paint Code

So I bought my 2011 Silverado Z71 CC 5.3 back in April. I wanted to get a paint pen. The dealers pull my VIN and they keep telling my its storm blue metallic. But if you look at the truck and the invoice its Steel Green Met. Does anyone know the paint code for Steel Green Met, so I can just tell them to make me a paint pen with Steel Green Met. They keep wanting to use the VIN but the truck is not BLUE!

Any help be appreciated.

Post me the last 8 digits of your VIN and I can tell you the paint code,DO NOT go by the name of the color,Chevrolet and GMC sometimes uses different names for the same color *see below* thats why your running into issues.

*EXAMPLE.....What Chevrolet calls Blue Granite Met.,GMC calls Stealth Gray Met.*

You can also use the paint code in the glove box , white tag and on the very bottom row it will say something like wa519f or u519f for an example

Exactly :banghead: If you can't wait for me to get you the code tomorrow, you can look at the SPID label for the code as montyss said.

OK......The paint code for your truck is WA718S - The RPO ordering code for it is GGU

If you look on the SPID label in the glovebox you should see both these codes.

Nice to have folks on sites that have inside access to stuff like this!

And I miss #3 Dale too!!! Like everytime the #18 runs his yapper about something or pulls his crap on the track, I think "Boy The 'Ole Man would have fixed his boat a loooooong time ago."

Hey Rich....the last eight of my VIN are: BG306105. The truck is Chevy's "Sheer Silver." The codes I got off the g-box sticker are: U 726S & 19C. I'm getting ready to order a matching fiberglass cab-high cap for it and need to ensure I have the correct GM paint code # for the folks.

So if you can work your magic, I'd be very grateful!

Thanks in advance....Matt

Gotchya....thanks!!!

Wow I checked it out and it all keeps coming up Evolution Blue Met. So why on my order sheet and I was told by everyone and my self it looks Steel Green Met. I dont see any blue in the paint. I used a little of the Evolution Blue Met on a little scratch on door. Does not match well to the stock paint. I see ton of green in paint not blue.

Even after checking this website out:

https://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecol...hoosecolor.aspx

I cannot find Steel Green Met. Any ideas how this happens?

Perhaps it is simply a difference in Canadian and US documenation or specs?

Touch up pens are sometimes not very good at matching simply due to not having a clear coat applied overtop. As well as metallic colours do not come out good with pens for some reason. I have the exact one for my blue 2010 Sierra, it does not match very well at all. Watching a body guy use one the other day, and he was putting the paint very lightly, and then wiping off the stuff that was not in the scratch. That kept the difference down to a minimum.

Maybe ill have to get some auto body shop to mix up some paint in a can. I have had better results doing it that way. Go on Google and type in Steel Green Met. It is a colour that is sold in the states as well.
