My ac will not come on without jumping the ac compressor relay. I have checked everything else and all is okay. It is a 92 GMC C1500 Sierra with , what the book calls, a 4 speed electronic controller. Could problem be in contoller?

have you check if the freon level is with in its range. if yes, then check if current is going into the compressor, you can do this with a multimeter or simply by connecting a light to the compressor connector, if the light turns on, then you have current. if you have current, then it might be the clutch.

Like I said above, Everything is correct. There is no current going to the compressor unless I jump across the terminals on the relay. If I read the wiring schematic correctly, the 2 brown wires carry 12V current, the blue/white wire comes from the controller, and the lt.green wire goes to the low pressure switch which in turn goes to the compressor. I am assuming that the blue/white wire should carry some sort of signal/current from the controller which would allow the relay to engage causing current to flow to the compressor. Is this correct.

Thanks geniusguy

try a different relay. or other controllers.
