Stuck In My Truck!

Ok I found this forum on a Google search and hope someone can help me as I dont want to go thru the process of elimination.

 

My drv door will not open at all and all the locks are working FOB pad,manual unlock,armrest switch and key. If I lock the door and then try and open the knob does not pop up like it should from the inside of the truck at least I believe thats what should happen. I dont think its the actuator because that function is working. Also does anyone know if you can take off the door panel with the door closed? It doesnt look like enough room to pull it out and remove.

looks like something got loose or when the last time you open the door you pull to hard and broke something inside. no you cant take the door panel out without opening the door. you can try and take the seat off and it gives you more room and then try to take the door panel out and open the door manually.

Have you tried having someone push inward on the door while trying to release the door?

Or get someone with a slim jim to see if they can get the lock to move more?

Well I went out today had to do complete brakes anyway and grabbed the outside handle and gently pulled it in and out rapidly and the door opened so I dont know what is going on but right now it is fine go figure.

My Dad used the wrong key in his truck last year (2008 chev 2500HD) and it locked him in. He had a bad knee and did not want to climb out window. His wife came and rescued him. Worked fine after that but he could not get out until she came and unlocked the door with fob and opened from outside (not sure she had to open it, just that she did open the door with the outside handle).

 

He blamed it on the security system, has not had any problems prior or since.

Not to hijack the thread, but my dirver's side door is having a similar issue. It's an '07 Classic extended cab. The outside door handle doesn't return into the door all the way and then you cannot open the door from the inside. If I open the window, and push the outside handle in all the way it works fine every time. But if I don't remember to open the door from the outside and push the handle in all the way as I get in the truck, I will not be able to open the door from inside unless I opent he window and return the handle to it's resting position.

 

I cannot seem to figure out how to lubricate the handle inside the door or is there a spring that needs to be replaced? Any thoughts?
