2007 Yukon Denali Or Cadillac Escalade: Issues To Consider?

I'm considering a 2007 Yukon Denali and a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. I've read through a ton of posts and several online reviews (edmunds, cnet, C&D, etc) and I'm still unclear about any issues I should be looking for when I look at the car. I'd appreciate any suggestions on things I should keep an eye out for like rust issues, common wear & tear spots, and so on.

After reading a bunch of stuff, it also sounds like AFM combined with the smaller 5.3L isn't really worth a crap...not enough to consider an SLT, for instance, over a Denali.

Sorry for the "newbness" of this thread, but I appreciate your help.

Mostly rock solid. Overall, they are awesome trucks and the 6.2L is amazing. But.... The 5.3L is worth more consideration than your giving it. It's also a good solid motor. :fume: You only read about the 500 trucks with issues... not about the 5 million without issue.

Most of the issues you'll find are just stupid problems not real issues.

Check the vehicle out thoroughly. Do a cold start, and listen to the engine for piston slap, lifter tick, etc. For the Escalade, most '07s had wind noise problems. Also, the early 6.2L engines had a recall for lifter replacement.

I would get an '08 if I were you. The Denali and Escalade are pretty much the same truck, but the Cadillac is more flashy, and looks better IMO.
