Air In Coolant System

Recommended Posts

If I just take of the upper radiator hose and replace it will that put unwanted air into the cooling system?

I am replacing this hose as a preventive measure against future problems. The truck, 2003 GM yukon has 102,000 miles.

Thanks

A bit of air will be in the system. Just make sure that the res. is full and it will pull the coolant back into the system.

Drain cooling system. Change hose. Refill cooling system. Leave rad cap off and run engine until upper rad hose gets hot. Top off coolant and install rad cap. Wha-lah.. you are done.
