Headers

Im greatly concidering buying some headers come the holidays.  Any suggestions?  I really have JUST started thinking and know little to nothing about individual brands/setups.  All insight and wisdom GREATLY appreciated.

After looking at TOG headers, they look extremely well made.  I think for us 8.1's they're about $759 a set.  Then you need to add on another $150 or so if you want ceramic coating.  Then you have to add on the cost of any different intermediate pipes that the cats are mounted on that feed into the muffler(s), then there is the cost of high flow cats.

 

By the time you add it up, you're now spending $1,300 - $1,500 and you haven't even factored in labor yet, unless you plan to put them in yourself.

i would check out heddmen headers that's what i use on my truck's and i havent had a problem with them yet. also look at flowtec afterburners i have some freind's that use them and they love them!!! they dont cost a heck of a lot either :puke:

JBA all the way......the #### with the other guys........

 

If you don't like JBA go with gibson or something like that....just my $.02 but for what its worth this is my 4th truck with JBA's and i've never had a bit of problem.  They're a pretty straightforward application....or as straightforward as headers can be.

Heddman as far as I know doesn't make headers for these new Gen LS1 derived truck engines.

You've got the old school SBC, he's got the new school SBC.  The only things in common are the bore centerlines and number of cylinders.
