Torquing Upper Ball Joint

Recommended Posts

Posted

I just put a leveling kit in my 2010 Sierra and was wondering how everyone torqued there upper ball joint since you cant fit an ordinary torque wrench in there? I just guessed at the tightness for now, but with the leveling kit in the front end seems to creek when turning at slow speeds, I have about 150 km on the leveling kit now so maybe I will go and make sure everything is still tight.

Yeah I had the same problem of not being able to get a torque wrench in there. I didn't have any creaking though. When I took it to my shop for an alignment I asked them to make sure that the upper ball joint was tight enough.

It seems to just creak and a slight pop when reversing and turning at slow speeds, I raised the front end off the ground and there is no play in any of the tires, and everything I had taken apart to install the leveling kit was still tight...
