College conferences

So guys, what do you think is the best all-around college football conference.  My vote is going to the Big 12 without a doubt.  Last year they had the National Champs, and they probably will again this year.  They have 4-5 teams right now that are capable of playing very good football.

 

 

btw, why can't the Big 10 even get the number or teams in the conference right?  LOL

Ok, that was directed at me, I know it.  All I have to say is bring your boys over here to pay a visit to my Illini or Michigan State come basketball.  They'll be headed home with their tails between their legs.

 

By the way, Big Ten holds its own in football.  I wouldn't say 12th place in the BCS rankings is too shabby for my Illini.  Several other teams ranked nicely too.

Actually, I don't care fo college football, but I like to see the VT Hokies win.

 

I don't care much for the rest of the conference. VA Tech could be the only team in the conference for all I care...

Well gotta go Big Ten on this one, I know my Penn State Nittany Lions started slow but they got their act together and are headed to put a whuppin on the Illini this Sat. We Are Penn State!!!!!!

Illini has a pretty sweet team this year and should be a heck of a game, check out our freshman qb Zack Mills to bad he didnt start the first few nightmares but the kids gonna be pretty good.

Sorry, I had to put my vote in for the Pac-10.  Four of the BCS top eleven are on the West coast.

I want to vote Big East, because I'm a Die Hard WVU fan.  But in reality, our conference sucks right now.

 

1. SEC

2. Big 12

3. Big 10 / PAC 10 (it's a tie right now)

4. ACC

5. Big East

 

after that it doesn't really matter does it?

How can you not think it is the PAC-10?  Oregon, UW, WSU, UCLA and Stanford?  All five of these teams would be in the top ten if they didn't have to face their counterparts in the conference.  All the polls favor the east coast (read Florida schools) and don't give any credit to the west coast schools (read WSU and UW).

I voted SEC.  They always have good teams, usually a couple weak ones, but most are capable of beating anyone.

 

I'm a WVU fan too, maybe in a couple years after the new coach recruites some of "his" kind of players, they be better.  I like VT too, except when they are playing WVU.  And like any good Mountaineer fan, I can't stand Pitt! :sneek:  The WVU-Pitt backyard brawl is usually one of the best WVU games of the year.

Had to go with the SEC cause I'm from the SEC!!!  ANyone catch the Jim Rome show on the radio this week.  I forget which day, but BYU fan was all pissed off because they are one of only a few undefreated teams in the nation.  OK, BYU is a good team in a good confrence, I emphasize GOOD.  Because there are 15 teams out there that would has BYU their A@@'S handed to them, Kinda funny if you think about it.

Well, we beat you.  First half was real ugly, but the second half was about the best football I've ever seen in my life.  I stood the whole time and yelled so much I can't talk right now.  Great game, too bad you had to LOSE!!!!

Hey Elwood and MountaineerTom!!

 

I am a DIE HARD Mountaineer fan also!  Went to school there. I sure do miss the games, especially the back yard brawl.  Although I don't think this is even remotely true now days, that rivalry (IMHO)used to be the best in college football, if not the most publicized.

 

Yeah, I hope the new coach gets things straight.  I liked Nehlen, but he really was a defensive coach at heart.

Yeah, I think Nehlen was more of a defensive kind of coach too.  I liked him though.  I like the idea that Rodriguez ran a pretty explosive offense at Clemson and Tulane.  I hope he has success with it in Morgantown soon.
