New To Forum, Need Help Choosing Exhaust.

Hey guys, I am new to the forum and recently purchased a 2001 Sierra 2500HD 4X4 with the 6.0L engine. I removed the Cats, and am looking for an exhaust (muffler and exit pipe with tip) and will be getting a tune and CAI soon after. I would like to go with either a single or dual exit off of one side of the truck behind the rear tire. My biggest concern is that I want something that will not be to loud or obnoxious, especially while cruising the highway, but will give the truck a little better growl and sound when punched. Please let me know what you have and what works well with this kind of set-up, sound clips would be extremely helpful. Please remember that I do not want a super loud one, that phase was 10 years ago for me LOL. Thank a lot!

PS, heres a pic of the truck with the new tires I just put on. Since the pic I have also added front window rain guards, a bug guard, and have debadged the truck!

why did you take the cats off if you dont want it to be loud?should of left the cats on.besides losing power mpg taking off the cats doesnt do anything. With a flowmaster 40 it might to loud might have to look at maganflow or corsa to obsurb the unwanted popping and etc.

I have not noticed the removal of the cats making a difference in sound level (i welded in striaght pipe where they were, its not just open) however it has given the truck a slighly better sound. As for the mpg's it will not be affected, the truck has 2 sets of O2 sensors, one before the cats and one set at the cats. The sensor before the cats is what would have impact on fuel trims, i have already deleted the rear 02 Sensors so that a code will not be thrown with them gone. Without them it slighlty reduces restriction on the outlet side, not much, but worth taking them off imo. I will checkout the magnaflow and corsa, thanks!

I have cut my cats out and didn't notice a difference in mpg or power. I have never looked back since. And i would reccommend you looking into MBRP. They have a real nice sounding exhaust. I always say youtube is you best friend for exhaust shopping. there should be tons of videos of different exhaust set ups for your truck.
