Removing Door Cladding On Nnbs Silverado?

Your good to go,there are no holes under them. They are on with double face tape.

Has anyone done this? Are there any holes or anything under there? Pictures? Thanks

Heat gun, dental floss or fishing line, and goo gone will take care of it. Why would you pull these off? Seems like you are inviting door dings in the parking lot without them on. Even if you try to park away from everyone else, there's always that jerk that parks right next to you in an otherwise empty parking lot.

The ones on my GMC first discolored then started falling off by themselves so I pulled them all off. I think the truck looks better without them. As others noted, there is only double-sided "tape" holding them on. The goo left behind is a PITA though. I used gas and tons of "elbow grease" to get it off - the "Goo Gone" stuff just didn't work that great for me. Be sure to wash & wax under there once you get the cladding off.

The heat gun basically makes the leftover tape turn into mush that comes off pretty easily. Just don't heat it so much that it ruins the paint.

Anyone have any pics of their trucks once removed. Thining about removing mine also. I have some discoloration around the paint on the passenger side at the very tip of it. Also water seapes out from beneath them and runs down to bottom of door. Leaving marks that do not want to come off....

Don't remove the door moldings just becuase they fade or get discolored. They can be very easily repainted. They usually fade quicker than the rest of the truck, as they are made of plastic. On my car, the paint completely came off the top of the body side moldings in ten years. I just repainted them and they look like new. A lot better solution than potential door dings in my opinion.

Look at a WT version that does not come with them.

PM26 - Curious if you had a body shop do the paint, or did you do it yourself. The rear drivers side on my 06 is looking really bad, and I need to paint it.

I did it myself becuase the paint came off only on top of each molding. To do it correctly you need to spray some sort of sealant on the plastic, then base coat it, and clear coat it.
