Oil guage ?

I just noticed this today on my 99 4.8 Sierra EXT, bought this about 4 months ago.  It's starting to get cold here in il, in the low teens and lower, and I have notice that the Oil guage is moving on my truck.  i looked in the book and it didnt' mention anything about this,  

    Is this guage showing oil pressure?  or what?   When i'm at idle or at a stop light is at 40.  When I start to take off, or driving it's around 60 to 65.  Is this a normal range?

My '02 4.8 runs about 60-65, havent noticed when I am idle but I am guessing that its normal range.

My 4.8 oil gauge moves too.

 

when you hit the gas your causing the pump to speed up and push more oil. = NORMAL.

thanks guys.  That is what I though, but just wanted to make sure.   So it is oil pressure!

LOL!!!  Aint that the truth!!!  I was surprised that my F*rd truck always sat at a happy 2/3 on the oil pressure gauge.  After reading about it I found out that the sensor moves the gauge to that position when it senses over 3 psi.
