Non-bose Head Unit Hater

I was just trashing my non-bose radio in another thread. I would upgrade the head unit in a second if I knew what to do...

I was wondering if the dealer could install a better head unit into my truck???

Is this Bose system any good??

I have a feeling in the next months and years, there will be alot of questions about removing/replacing these non-Bose radios.

While the non-bose HU isn't that great neither is the Bose. I have heard and worked with them in a Yukon Denali. There is nothing impressive about it. I believe there are two bose systems, a regular bose and a luxury bose. There systems are too technical if you want to add speakers/subs. I would advise you to go with an aftermarket HU unless you are going for a factory look. When I decide I want to change the HU I am going with something aftermarket.

 

As for a dealer doing an install. I'm guessing they probably would, but it's going to cost you. I would find a good audio installer around you.

My 2cents: Run away from ANY factory replacement deck. Just about anything in the aftermarket will crush any non-Bose factory deck - if you didn't need navi, you can get a decent A/V deck now for under $400, plug and play navi is about 1k.

i personally love the bose sound system i had it in my 95 z-28 and currently in my 05 silvy the sound quality is awsome its not to much and its not to little (ive also had 4000$ sound systems and the sound qaulity is very close maybe not as loud but i would like to be able to hear when im 50 unlike my father
