Big Mistake?

So this past friday I bit the bullet and pulled the trigger on the wheels I wanted, 20x9 Fuel Gauge rims with a +14mm offset. I was going to order my tires today when I called my local BDS distributor and he quoted me the 6'' lift with new leaf packs, and the fox 2.0 shocks for 1900 bucks and a 600 dollar install/alignment. So now I'm looking at a 33x12.5x20 or the equivalent metric, but the problem is that I'm reading more and more that the offset/backspacing needs to be correct for this lift and different tires.

 

Did i screw the pooch on the one and order the wrong size rim?

 

On a side note... les schwab quoted me 1800 for a set of Toyo Open Country A/T 33x12.5x20's installed, thoughts?

In the interim i cancelled my order on the wheels until I know for sure what offset I need.

Well you have 5.55in back spacing so I really doubt 0.2 of an inch is going to be a major problem

Neither if you want 5.75 back spacing, you need something with +19 or +20 mm offset for that, +1mm is about 5in and -12 is about 4.5

Ahhhh it's all coming together now. Rims are back on order for the +14mm, they'll just stick out a little bit more. Now the most important question... 33in tires... better to go metric or stay in the standard range?

if you get 33" tires you will have no problem with the 20x9 +14mm offset! they will look great! a 35" tire might rub, but a 33" won't!

 

they will stick out just a hair outside the wheel wells. a +18mm on a 9in wide rim sits flush. your not going to notice much of a difference with 4mm more sticking out, thats about 1/10 of an inch.

That's exactly what I came up with when it all broke down. So rims are on order, and I'm going to order the lift here shortly. 2500 for lift/install/alignment a good deal??

This is a +18 offset wheel, kind of give you an idea.

Why go with a 33 on a 6" lift. Why not go with a 35? Or, if you just wanted to rund a 33, why not just do a 4" lift, or a 3" bl and a leveling kit and bigger blocks? Just wondering, not dogging you.

I just like the look of the 33 and 6"

 

I don't want to get something smaller than that now and wish that I would have gone with the 6" to start with.

 

Also, I have to try to salvage what little mpg's I can between the 20" rims, 33" tires and 6.0 liter engine haha
