2006 Silverado

Hello

I have an 06 silverado. On the start of my vacation i was about 60 miles into it and the check engine light came on. We had it checked by autozone about 1300 miles latet and they said it was a no flow through the converter or something like it said fuel injector cleaner might help or to replace the fuel filtet. I went back to get a fuel filter and they told me it did not have an external one it was with the fuel pump. They cheked it again said it was the solinoid on the carbon canister that wad stuck. Since this is an emmisions issue is it covered? Truck has a little over 80,000 miles on it and we bought it used from the gm dealer. Hope you can help me

Get the code pulled....I'm going with P0449.....easy fix if thats the code....do a search on the forum

Check your warranty book. There are a number of emissions items that are covered over and above the 3/36 warranty, but if I recall, they are covered for 8/80.

It most likely is the evap vent valve/solenoid and GM doesn't warranty it!

Had the same code on my truck, swapped out the solenoid and all is good since!
