Rear Axle Removal

Need to pull the rear axles on 2003 silverado 1500 .I took out the locking pin but there is a aluminum bracket that holds the gears in place in the way of pushing axle in to remove c clips . Any advice .

Pull 8 mill bolt out rotate chunk remove round pin and push axles in and remove c clips let me know if you have other questions on the axle

Job complete , new backing plates and seals.That aluminum block in center just needed a little wiggle with needle nose pliers then the axles pushed right in. Thanks for the tips.

Did you leave the large main pin partially in or did you remove it completely. I have the same problem right now and I have tried moving the aluminum thrust block with a needlenose but no luck.
