Emergency Brake Indicator Not Working

Recently in my new house I've been using my emergency brake more because the driveway is a good slant and the past few days I haven't seen the Indicator light come on at all.

 

Normally if I go to back out and its on the dash chimes and it says "parking assist off" and the brake indicator is on but it seem stop doing that.

 

E-brake is working properly and all just no indicator.

 

truck is a 2008 Silverado 5.3L Lt

found where the switch is this morning. Appears that when the pedal moves it completes a ground bridge on the switch.

 

I cleaned the switch a little and now it works. Ordered a new one today from the dealer to replace it.
