Hi, I am new to the site. I just purchased a 2004 silverado 2500hd. I have a daystar leveling kit with the shock extenders I plan to install. I want to buy the XD spy wheels, specs 17 x 9 4.5bs or -12. I want to run 285 70 17 tires preferably the fierce attitude, or good year duratrac. Do you think this will work?

Thanks! How much no problem? Did you have to do any trimming? I like the Black Chevy Bow tie, I was thinking of adding that to my truck. I need to get rid of all that chrome covering crap the guy before me put on it. Got any side pictures of your truck?

I had to do a little bit of trimming. When I bought my truck it had 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers that didn't rub at all but when I put my Pacer rims with 285/75/16 Hercules Trail Diggers the offset made it to where I had to trim a little plastic. So if you run stock rims you should be alright. The bow tie is easy to do. There is just two plastic nuts behind the bow tie and it comes right off for a easy paint job. I just uploaded some pictures of my truck in my gallery on my profile if you want to take look at those.

You ran the Hercules traildiggers? I am seriously thinking of getting this tire, like right now! I was just about to call the tire shop. I'm gonna wait on your reply though now. How did you like them? how many miles did you get out of them? I don't expect to get a ton out of them, but just curious if its a good tire on a 2500hd. Do you have a leveling kit? By The way your truck looks GREAT! I assume that is what mine will look like in just a few days, except the ext vs Crew cab thing. lol

I am still running the Trail Diggers. I bought them used with about 85-90% tread and have had them on for about 4,000 miles and can't hardly see any wear. So far I am very happy with them. They dig like crazy in the mud. I didn't even need four wheel drive. The only down fall is the noise they make, but hey, they are mud tires! I do have a leveling kit. I wasnt able to turn my T-bolts much so I had to intall a leveling kit. Trucks and their accesories are addicting! Also, thanks for the comments!

Are your tires the 8 or 10 ply? I called today to check on them and the 10 ply are backordered with no ETA in sight. What is your opinion on 8 or 10 ply? I don't plan on doing any towing if that matters?

Im running load range D's on mine with no problem. I tow a few trailers and campers here and there and the 8 plys have been fine. If you dont plan on hauling or towing much you will fine.

Did you trim any? I ordered Good Year dura tracs 285 70 17 today. Got them for the cyber monday price on tuesday!!

I didn't trim. I just heated up the plastic inner liner and formed it out of the way so it wouldn't catch on the tire. They still rub a bit. I cranked up the torsion bars a bit but it still rides kind of low compared to the 2011 HD's.

could not for the life of me, get the torsion bars out of the keys. I'm gonna take it to a shop this week but for now I did crank up the factory keys just to get the wheels and tires on. I had to pull the front liner forward a little and secure with a ziptie. The back rubs a little too, especiall turned at full chock. I guess I'll have to do that heat and reform thing you mentioned. I have a bod pic now, but I'llget a few good ones up soon.

It took quit a bit of effort to get mine out. I had my truck on a lift and had soaked everything down with liquid wrench and I still had to beat the hell out of them with a hammer and a big punch.
