Zerk/Grease Fittings on 2008 2500HD - Clogged Ball Joint

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how the Zerk fittings on the lower ball joints are installed? I thought they were press-fit, but I can't get it to budge. Is it one of the rear press-fit types with a flange on the back?

One of the fittings seems to have a blockage behind it and will no longer take any grease. The fitting itself seems to work fine. I've tried heat, moving the joint, jacking that side of the truck up to change the angle and remove pressure. Any other ideas? I would love to get the fitting out and clean it out good, but am considering buying one of the "cleaning" tools that will allow me to force some solvent in there to break up whatever is blocking it.

Any help is appreciated!
