3500 express traction control light

Hello all. I am new here and am trying to assist my father with his 2007 chevy express 3500. It's a 14-passenger, so long wheel base, I presume. V8 gasoline.

It started a few weeks ago. It was intermittent, now this is always happening. When coming to a complete stop. When he starts going again, the traction control lamp starts flashing for 5 seconds we he goes over 5 miles an hour. Then it goes out. This will happen every time, unless you slow down to more than ~ 5 miles an hour. Then no flashing stabilitrak light. Also I hear a clicking like noise from what I think is the front drivers side wheel.

This was happening before we had the rear brakes serviced. It made no difference.

If it helps, the van has over 75,000 miles.

Thanks for any assistance.

Would that have to be a dealer scan? Or will an off - the -shelf ODB II reader work? The check engine light is not on. And I belive it passes the prove out test.

scanning it is only a small part, the diag is a process to find the root cause,

any desent shop can do it but the pros are the dealer techs ,there scanners are awesome, but i am BIASED !!! lol

Resolved. It was the passenger side front hub /bearing assembly. The trac sensor is sealed. It was expensive at the shop we went to. The mechanic said that when that happens the system trac control is resetting and not usable at that moment.
