I need new tires!!

57,000 miles later, and the stock Firestones are toast.....Heres my problem.  I need to stick with 245/75/16, because of my garage doors  :jester: I need to keep the load rating up there, Either "D" or "E"  And I also want to get a nice looking tread pattern.

I want more of an all-terrain type tire. As opposed to the ones that came stock. (looks like an oversized car tire)  Its a 2wd truck, so I dont want mud terrains, and Im tired of BFG all-terrains.  Yokahama Geolander A/T is a nice tire, as well as Bridgestone Dueler A/T.  I'm just looking for suddestions, and possible pictures.  Let me know!!

You can never go wrong with a set of BFG's! :thumb: I have always ran BFG A/T's and never had any problems (knock on wood!) They are a great all around tire (hence the name All-Terrain I guess   )

My votes for the BFG's!!!!  :thumb:  :thumb:

Have Dueler AT Revo's on my Z71, not sure if you could run them on a 2wd, but they're more aggressive than the stock Wilderness and provide great all weather traction and no noise.

The Dualers are a solid tire at a competative price.  They seem to last well too, but I don't think you'll get 57K out of an AT tire.

It's a shame you can't at least go +1 on size and run 265's.  That would really set your truck up nice.  It made a big difference on my HD....

I agree with asskickinHD, you cant go wrong with BFG, either the mud terrain or the AT's.  I would go for a set of 285's.  The MT will look meaner, and I like meat on my tires!!  BUT the AT's will last longer, and they are silent.  I have 33x12.50 BFG AT's on my dodge, and I had 35x12.50's on my HD, and they are by far the best, longest lasting tire I have ever had, and I have had LOTS of different brands of tire.  (but what do I know?)

I just put the Nitto Terra Grappers on my truck and they are AWESOME! Real good traction and a quiet ride. You might be a little limited with that tire size.

Check out the pics in my sig. :jester:

I'd throw in my vote for the Nitto's as well, but the smallest size they make is a 265. Is your garage clearance really so close that an extra inch will cause you to hit?

I too prefer BFG's, but chances are you're gonna drop a load range for the stock size which some of you obviously glanced over.  He needs to keep it stock sizewise.

I personally am not a fan of the stock Firestone's, but if the first set lasted you 57k, why not just get another set?  (BTW, I have my 4 for sale..only 2,600 miles on them I think).  They are a decent looking tire tread wise, are durable, and will maintain the load range "E" rating.  I only had traction problems with them in that damp type of driving, otherwise, they cut through the snow and handled on pure wet pavement as well as my BFG's do.

Toyo Open Country AT's.  Had my 285's on and just drove through 8" of fresh snow on the roads and no problems.  They are very quiet for an AT tire and have a 50K warranty.

Yeah, I have had Toyos on a previous truck and they were a good/great tire as well.

I do like the looks of the Nittos that guys are running. It sounds like they are a good tire. Of course, almost all of the guys on here will swear by the BFG, so they have to be good, too.
