Photos of Katskin and GM heated seat install. I`ve had the parts sitting around for almost three months and finally was able to get everything together. A shout out for member PIP for his write up of heater kit install. It made it way easier than just the included instructions. I purchased the Katskins from Seats R Us on Ebay, they included a step by step DVD which was a big help and bought the heater kit from member SuperchargedSS. It took me about 12 hours to do everything. If I did not have a bad back and need to take frequent breaks It could be done in under 8 hours easy. Tomorrow it goes to the dealer to get programmed.

Katskins were $575 and heaters were around $350 both with shipping. The dealer has to turn the heater system on. This has to be done with the dealers device, Tech2 IIRC. Just got back from dealer and every thing works fine. They hit me with $86, 1 hour min. labor cost. The actual programming takes 10 minutes.

Actually $86 is cheap becuase the dealer got charged $50 for the calibration to program your truck for the heated seat install. If they didn't charge you for that, they ate the cost of it and will realize it as soon as the parts department finds the charge for the calibration on thier next invoice.

At first the dealer wanted $119 to program. I had a set of printed instructions of where to go and how to activate. I said it would take a tech 5-10 minutes. He then offered to do it at a lower price with the condition that if it took longer I would have to pay the higher price.

I really need to do this, but too much money :(

I kind of agree. Unless upgrading trucks is out of the picture, in the next 4-5 years, I'll do it then. Otherwise I'll just upgrade trucks.
