Multiple USB ports

Hey everyone!! New to the forum. I just picked up a new 2012 Silverado 1500 LT. First truck and I love it already. My question is those who have the center console with the usb port in it, do you have one in the dash too? If you do, do you know if they both connect to the same port on the back of the stereo. I dont have the center console but would like to add a second port and am considering putting in a splitter. I just want to see if its the same as you have.

USB will either be on the dash or in the console depending on what interior you have. The radio only has one port and will only support one device at a time so splitting it likely won't do anything as plugging in two devices at once will at best force one off or at worst cause some kind of malfunction.

Not all embedded devices will support a USB hub. You can try it, if you cannot see the USB device, then its pretty clear it won't work.

 

USB is one of the most painful and complicated things under the surface. But they did a beautiful job in making it stupid simple for the user.
