sway bar ??

need some help on what the proper name of the broken part in the pic is. looks easy enough to replace any ideas on prices for the parts is?. is there anything really bad about these being broken cause i have no idea how long these have been broken for i thought my shocks were finished

Sway bar links if I recall. You'll need to shop around as for prices. I've never dealt with that part myself. I do know that you need to make sure you have front end jacked up with wheels dangling (as in jack stands under frame and not control arms) to ensure you take as much tension as possible to replace.

thinking ill have to use stands on the frame and use a jack under the wheel to close the distance so i can bolt it up

You want to have both wheels/control arms at the same height so there is no torsion on the sway bar. Then you may need to jack one control arm up/down a little to line up the end links. Easy repair on most vehicles.

yeah the bolt snapped you're missing both pieces of the bottom bushing, just go to any auto parts store and get replacement swaybar links for you truck (i'd do both sides) its a simple bolt on piece just make sure you have bushings on both sides of the sway bar and both sides of the control arm you dont need to jack anything up at all once both sides are loosened the swaybar will move up and down with some restrictions from the swaybar bushings on the frame. just leave both sides loose until you get both sides set in place and then tighten them up. easy.
