I called a gmc dealer to find out how much it would cost to reprogram my bcm. I picked up the same part number as the bcm I currently have on ebay. the dealer said I would have to buy a new bcm becaus they can only be programmed once. I am just wondering if anybody knows if he is telling me the truth or does he just want to sell me another bcm. just so you know the bcm I bought has the same part number but it came out of a trailblazer.

every time there is an update available ,it can be put in the module,,,so the answer is .......yes

dealer is full of shit imo

did you have yours scanned and diag'd or is this a guess ?

The scanning and diagnosing is just an extra Service at the dealer right. If they do check mine and it is bad I want to replace it with the one I got from ebay. it came from a trailblazer that was in running condition but it is the same part number do you think that will work?

actually it's a step that real mechanics do instead of just changing parts at random to try and fix an issue. Will it work? Who knows? You haven't even given the first symptom to know what it is you are trying to correct.
