Thinking of getting a 2500 again

Hello all. I have been away for a bit. Let me tell you my history...I have loved GM products since the very first silverado I got back in 1993. I had a 2004 GMC 2500 HD 6.6 4x4 SLT. I absolutely loved it. I had to sell it since I had a motorcycle accident and needed to concentrate on hospital bills.

I then got a 2009 new Toyota Tacoma. It was 4x4 and a Sport model at that. Nice truck but way too small.

I traded it for a lightly used 2008 GMC 1500 SLT Sierra 5.3. I loved that too. ...then got a boat...a week after I got that...a car rammed my truck and it was in the shop for a month and a week. I sold it after that. Got myself a new 2012 Passat TDI. LOVE DIESEL. It gets great mileage 40mpg....but I really miss my 2500. Just started looking.

Better to much than too little, go for it. I took a similiar path though not from injury. I probably will not buy a half ton again. Seems now I have the right tool no matter what the job, within reason of course.

Don't get me wrong, my older Tacoma as well as my "New" style Tacoma were great trucks and served wonderfully within their limits. Same goes for the full size half tons I have had. So far though my 3/4 ton does everything they did better and doesn't work as hard.

Was glad once again yesterday I went with the "Bigger" truck. My sweetie and I, the kiddo and Grandma and Granpa went to Cabela's. While there we bought quite a bit of stuff. Put it in the tool box in the bed. While we were in the area checked for flooring we had been searching for but wasn't availible at our local Home Depot. Well the Home Depot in that area had it so we loaded it up. Headed home with 900lbs. in the bed plus 4 adults and a 10 year old boy. Did the Gimmy care, nope......... maybe rode a smidge smoother, away we went. A full size half ton would have handled it of course, but probably not as easily. Either of my Tacoma's would have been on the bump stops for sure. Yep, I love my truck.
