radio wiring different from all schematics

1998 Sierra 1500 SL manufactured in Oshawa, Canada. My dash wiring doesn't match manual schematics. Online diagrams say dark green wire is right front negatv, light green is right front post. My dash has dark green, dark green w white stripe, medium green, and lime green. Also purple wire with white stripe does not appear on any diagram. But I have NO solid purple wire (I thought they come in pairs). Wiring appears to come directly from behind dash with no aftermarket mods. There was a aftermarket CD/ stereo before thieves grabbed it. Is there an alternative wiring?

The radio wiring hanging out of the dashboard has a purple wire with white stripe. ShouIdn't there also be a solid purple wire? For speakers, wires often come colored in pairs. There is a dark green wire and a dark green with a white stripe. No other striped wires. Is it likely that the radio thieves completely ripped out a purple wire? Does anyone have any idea where to find more variations of audio wiring diagrams?

It's possible that the factory plug was replaced with an aftermarket plug when the non factory head unit was installed thus the reason that the wire colors don't match....

Factory wire colors:

 

LF+: Tan

LF-: Gray

RF+:Dk. Green

RF-:Lt. Green

LR+:Brown

LR-:Yellow

RR+:Dk. Blue

RR-:Lt. Blue

12v acc: Yellow

12v constant: Orange

Lights: Gray

Ground: Black

I agree with the factory color-wiring scheme above,so I need to find out my wiring and why it's different.

How do you tell which yellow wire is for which? Is there a test with a mutli-meter?

 

My wires hanging out of former radio slot (15 wires):

black

grey

yellow

yellow

dark green

dark green with white stripe

medium green (Lincoln green?)

lime green

purple with white stripe

orange

orange (a little lighter orange)

tan (possibly grey)

blue (royal blue)

light blue

dark brown

 

These wires come out of the back of the dash. Do you think they're spliced onto the factory ones? I can't see anything back there. I have air-con, which works, and cruise control, which conked out 6 mo ago.
